Property records, when combined with an accurate land base such as orthophotography, form the foundation to many geographic information systems (GIS). UGT uses a combination of coordinate geometry (COGO) and heads-up digitizing to complete parcel mapping projects utilizing client furnished source material. A variety of software packages are used to achieve this, including MicroStation and ESRI ArcGIS. Applications can be developed using an ESRI solution, such as Appraisal and Maintenance Applications. ESRI's personal geodatabase is a popular format to deliver parcel mapping databases and associated attributes.
