For projects that require the use of aerial film, UGT houses a LH Systems DSW-500 aerial film scanner, run by two dedicated softcopy high performance Dell Workstations. A variety of software tools are used to inspect and radiometrically optimize the imagery from the very beginning, in order to provide the best possible results during the photogrammetric data extraction process.

Aerial film scanning scan be directly associated with a mapping or orthophotography project, or can be contracted specifically for that purpose. UGT has worked with multiple engineering, surveying or mapping companies that contract specifically for the optimum scanning service. UGT has worked with several Colleges and Universities that hold historical aerial imagery. UGT has the ability to take the furnished diapositives or aerial film, create a calibration for accuracy, and then produce a digital orthophoto/orthoimagery product that our clients use to compare and analyze for a variety of reasons.
